ur kitchen utensils are made from a deciduous hardwood. The botanical name is " Acer Saccarum " most commonly known as Sugar Maple, Hard Maple or Rock Maple. This hardwood is heavy and strong. It has a stiffness giving it a good spring which makes it unbreakable under normal use. The Sapwood is cream in color, tinged with pale to medium browns. The Heartwood is a deeper reddish brown with dark mineral streaks. The most distinctive surface feature of Rock Maple, however, is the rare and highly figured grain patterns which are found more in this variety than in any other domestic hardwood. They include: Wavy, Curly, Quilted, Blistered, Fiddleback, Leaf figure, Mapleburl, and of course the most famous, Birds Eye. Maple has natural antibacterial properties which make these products an excellent choice in safe food preparations.

Care of Product

1. To Keep their beauty, these Rock Maple utensils should only be washed with soap and water ( do not soak ).

2. A light oiling ( using Olive Oil ) from time to time is highly recommended.

3. Should roughness appear after prolonged use and washings, their fine beauty and color can be restored. Simply sand with 240 grit sandpaper and re-oil them ......new again !
